Honouring a Loved One’s Memory with Donations to a Chosen Cause

It’s increasingly common for families to invite charitable donations in lieu of floral tributes at a funeral. This thoughtful gesture allows friends and family to honour a loved one’s memory while supporting a meaningful cause.

How We Can Help

At George Ball & Son, we’re here to assist you with every aspect of arranging charitable donations.

We can:

  • Collect and securely manage donations on your behalf
  • Provide donation envelopes at the funeral service
  • Ensure all contributions are sent directly to the chosen charity
  • Supply a full list of donors and the total amount collected

Whether you’re supporting a national charity, a local organisation, or a cause close to your loved one’s heart, we’ll help make sure every donation is handled with care and transparency.

How “Memory Giving” works

  • Memory Giving thank the donor for their gift.

  • Charity payments are made on the “closing date”. Memory Giving send a remittance advice to the charity with a breakdown of donations received.

  • Memory Giving send notification too the next of kin with a list of all donations received along with the messages left by the donors.
  • Notification and a copy of the list of donations is sent to the funeral director.
  • The Charity (or charities) receive a full list of donations received so they can acknowledge to the next of kin.
